After a successful first Synergy event organized by the EU Commission in close cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Infrastrucutre Watermanagement and Environment in the Port of Amsterdam in May 2023, the first session on Synergies in betweeen energy and transport and digital networks in the transition to net zero, was organized on April 4, 2024 during the Connecting Europe Days in Brussels. Moderated by the newly re-appointed coordinator of the Northsea Baltic corridor, Catharine Trautmann, directors for DG Energy and Digital, as well responsible officers of  resp logistics, energy and digital companies and ports, i.e. A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group, Telia, Iberdrola and Port of Rotterdam and Polska Grupa Energytyczna Syenrgy, seems now the way forward in ensuring a,most of all resilient, transition to an efficiently connected supply of energy to mobile transport corridors

In cooperation with the Dutch Ministry,  the EHA completed a study last September to map current and potential Synergy project locations along the Rhine Alpine, Northsea -Baltic and Northsea-Mediterranean transport corridors. On the basis of the outcome of this study the EHA organized several round tables over the last year, hosted by the Dutch Ministry, to collect potential industrial interest in large scale deployment of net zero solutions along the value chain from production to first users. With the input form these very fruitful exchanges, the EU Commission, together will evaluate the development of a dedicated EU programme for synergy projects in the future.
