with over 750 particpants the he 22nd edition of the WORLD HYDROGEN ENERGY CONFERENCE (WHEC) that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from June 17 to 22, 2018 is one of the best attended ever!

Brazil is one of the leading countries worldwide in the use of regenerative energy in large scale. In 2016, 82.8 % of electricity was produced from renewable sources, offering a wide range of sources for a clean and sustainable hydrogen production.

In 1992 world leaders met in Rio de Janeiro for the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development to create the vision of sustainable development as guideline for the 21st century.
26 years later world leading researchers and stakeholders will come to Rio de Janeiro for the main world conference about hydrogen energy, to discuss the most promising technologies towards sustainability.

The WHEC 2018 conference titled “Power and biomass to hydrogen” featured a workshop on “Global Action on using renewable sources for hydorgen production”, co-organized by the UNFCCC, the Brazilian Hydrogen Association and EHA. The workshop already has laid the basis of a closer collaberation between Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
