The VII General Assembly of the Spanish Technology Platform for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (PTE HPC) together with the Workshop “Hydrogen revolution in automotive, a closer reality” was held last June 30 in CDTI (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology), Madrid (Spain), in order to accelerate the introduction of the hydrogen and fuel cells technologies in the Spanish market and, particularly, in transport.
The field of hydrogen and fuel cells has experienced a significant breakthrough in recent times, standing out the commercialization of hydrogen vehicles with fuel cells in different parts of the world (California, Germany, UK, France, Japan, etc.). Furthermore, the Spanish Ministry of Industry is preparing the Spanish infrastructure deployment strategy for the use of alternative fuels (which includes hydrogen). Moreover, the World Hydrogen Energy Conference (WHEC 2016) is going to be held next year in Zaragoza (Spain). Thus, taking these into account, the H2&FC sector is going to bring business and job creation opportunities for Spain in the short term; opportunities that must be seized.
All these landmarks have been stated during the Workshop “Hydrogen revolution in automotive, a closer reality”, celebrated as part of the VII General Assembly of the PTE HPC and organised by the PTE HPC, the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) and with the special collaboration of the Canadian Embassy in Spain.
