The German leader in materials handling equipment STILL GmbH has unveiled its latest prototypes of fuel cell powered forklifts at the 29th German Logistics Congress in Berlin. The company, based in Hamburg, has been in development of this innovative piece of equipment since 2002, undergoing tests at Munich and Hamburg Airport, the HHLA transport company and the BASF chemical company since 2003. As of September 2012, STILL has provided his technology to the Belgian company Colruyt, which produces hydrogen using wind and solar energy. This makes the use of fuel cell powered equipment very sustainable. STILL is also planning to provide four of their fuel cell forklifts to the Danish hardware store chain STARK.
