The City of Copenhagen signed a contract with Hyundai for leasing 15 zero-emission fuel cell vehicles which will be delivered in April 2013 and 3 fueling stations in the Greater Copenhagen area within 2015.

The City of Copenhagen is a partner in the EU co-funded Hydrogen in the Hydrogen Transport for European Cities (HyTEC) project which aims to create two large deployment centres of hybrid vehicles in London and Copenhagen. Both cities have taken political decisions to be early adopters of hydrogen technology and will work together in a pan-European partnership to implement this vision.

The FCEV performs well in the Danish climate, with two test cars having logged 45,000 km on Danish roads in recent years.
