The public hearing is key step in the CARS 21 process, ensuring that a broad range of stakeholders can contribute to recommendations in the Interim and Final Report.

By means of this public hearing, the Commission seeks to engage a broader group of stakeholders into reflection on the topics selected for the Interim and Final Reports and contribute to policy recommendations, which will be presented in the report. While as a general rule, the CARS 21 meetings are limited to the group members and, occasionally, invited experts, the Commission is looking for the input from a wider range of stakeholders –in view of the societal importance of the topics discussed.
