Shell will be partnering with ITM in the South Bucks District to build hydrogen a refuelling stations within a pre-existing Shell installation. The new filling station in Beaconsfield is the first hydrogen refuelling station within the UK to be integrated into the main fuel forecourt canopy. This station will be part of the H2ME FCH JU project and the OLEV HRS Infrastructure Grants Scheme and is co-funded by the UK government.

ITM Power has also in the past been granted permission to plan construction of hydrogen refuelling stations within the Shell Filling Stations at Gatwick, Cobham and in Cambridge. Totally at four sites and the current agreement to build at three of these stations. Extra MSA will be working alongside ITM Power and Shell in order to facilitate the new HRS.

The H2ME 2 project was also presented with project updates during the FCH JU Review Days that is being attended by EHA this week. The project aims to expand the hydrogen vehicle fleet to over 1400 within Europe. The success of which rests on the roll-out of HRS infrastructure.
