The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, will announce plans for a challenging taxi emission target and will attend a ‘New Taxis for London’ event.  The event will see manufacturers showcasing greener taxis of the future, that will deliver the iconic service that London is famed for whilst minimising harmful emissions.

Three vehicle manufacturers – Fraser Nash, Karsan and The London Taxi Company – will be displaying the taxis they have in development.  Nissan and Mercedes, who are both also developing zero emission capable taxis, will also be present.

Garret Emmerson, Transport for London’s (TfL) Chief Operating Officer for Surface Transport, will be available for interviews throughout.

The media will be able to speak to manufacturers and take photos of the vehicles on display.

The Mayor will attend at 13:30 to be photographed with the vehicles.
