HyResponse is a ‘Coordination and Support Action (CSA)’ project supported by EC Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking and aiming to establish the World’s first comprehensive training programme for first responders, i.e. a European Hydrogen Safety Training Platform (EHSTP), to facilitate safer deployment of FCH systems and infrastructure. The core training programme is threefold: educational training, including the state-of-the-art knowledge in hydrogen safety, operational training on mock-up real scale hydrogen and fuel cell installations, and innovative virtual reality training reproducing in detail an entire accident scenario, including influence of first responder’s intervention.

The 5th project progress meeting followed by the second meeting for project’s Advisory and Consultative Panel (ACP) concluded successfully on 4th of September 2015 at ENSOSP,  Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Officiers de Sapeurs-Pompiers, in Aix En Provence – France.

The meeting included all projects partners:

The HyRESPONSE Advisory and Consultative Panel (ACP) members attended the second ACP meeting are:

  • Kurt Vollmacher
Project Leader Commission for Extrication and New Technology (CTIF), Belgium
  • Julien Roussel
Mirai Project Manager, Toyota Motor, Belgium
  • Franz Petter
OBR Mag, State Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service Hamburg, Germany
  • Sebastien Willem
Head of Tactical Doctrine and Professional Techniques Section, General Directorate for Civil Protection and Crises Management, France.

ACP members have reviewed and giving their feedback regarding the work done by the consortium:
–The educational training lectures including hazard and risks from H2 applications.
–The operational-level training on mock-up real scale transport and stationary installations.
–The virtual reality training exercises reproducing entire accident scenario.

HyRESPONSE is going to provide comprehensive pilot training sessions for first responders in a face to face mode including the educational lectures, operational training and virtual reality training.  The sessions will take place on the following dates:

– 1st training session: 14th-18th of March 2016
– 2nd training session: 9th-13th of May 2016
– 3rd training session: 6th-10th of June 2016
