Honda has recently joined the Clean Energy Partnership (CEP) to drive further hydrogen adoption in Europe.
CEP is designed to prepare the ground for market entry of hydrogen mobility in Europe. CEP is also the leading fuel cell vehicle and hydrogen infrastructure demonstration project in all of Europe. Honda said it draws expertise from vehicle manufacturers, infrastructure and energy companies, and the German Government.
To help its cause, Honda has given two FCX Clarity fuel cell and electric vehicles to CEP for demonstration purposes. By joining CEP, Honda believes consumers will be able to see that fuel cell electric vehicles will be a viable mode of mobility in the near future, should the infrastructure be established to support them.
“Honda firmly believes that hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles are the ultimate solution in reducing CO2 emissions from road transportation.” Ken Keir, Executive Vice President of Honda Motor Europe. “Participation within CEP with the ground breaking FCX Clarity will demonstrate the viability of fuel cell technology and will also support the essential development of a European hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.”
