On May 30, 2018 Nicolas Hulot France minister for Ecological transition called for an ambitious objective for hydrogen in France in response to questions in relation to a report of the French ministry of Energy and Climate and CEA (French Commissisariat for nuclear and alterantive energy) published on June 1, 2018: hydrogen should enter with 10% in the nergy mix of 2023, and even 40% in 2028. With 100 mln extra funding only a start has been made towards this objective according to the French hydrogen platform Afhypac, Their call is to lower also the taxes on inserting (green) hydorgen into the french gas network. Currently taxes for this injection amount to 6% (Germany 10%) while in the UK it is 0% Ten of the 70 EU projects in Eurpe are in France in which many SME are participating.
