At the 5th Fuel Cell Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU Stakeholders Meeting in Paris on October 12 the result of recent industry survey were presented in view of the next EU financial cycle and and for continued public support. Industry is planning to invest € 3 bln in the coming 7 years in these crucial period of market build up. Air Liquide CEO Benoit Potier confirmed Air Liquide ‘s commitment to hydrogen infrastructure build up but indicated that visible public support not only financial is needed to convince the first consumers and ensure a sustainable market. FCH JU chairman of the Board Pierre Etienne Franc joked in his welcome that the much talked about “delays” in market roll out of fuel cell applications are getting less. The EU Commission highlighted the positive experiences with the FCH JU and confirmed that hydrogen and fuel cell technologies will be supported in the next Horizon 2020 research and innovation program. The FCH JU co-funded H2MovesScandinavia project’s RoadTour featuring , Mercedes-Benz B-class F-CELL, Hyundai ix35 FCEV, Th!nk cars made pit stops over the last weeks in Paris, Hannover, Cardiff and London as well as Bolzano (foto) as the car industry is getting ready for roll out.
