It is coordinated by the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, in close cooperation withthe European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy. EU Sustainable Energy Week showcases activities dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. It aims to spread best practice, inspire new ideas and build alliances to help meet the EU’s energy and climate goals.
The High Level Policy Conference is an event centred around sustainable energy policy. It takes place in Brussels (Charlemagne and Committee of the Regions’ buildings) from 25 to 27 June 2013 and will include some 40 conferences organised by both European institutions and external stakeholders. Sustainable energy for transport with alternative fuels
Alternative fuels for transport should improve the security of energy supply by diversifying resources and supply routes. Substitution of oil with clean low-CO2 fuels, contributes to decarbonisation of transport and improvement of air quality at the same time.
The Clean Power for Transport package presented by the European Commission this year sets out a strategy for the gradual introduction of alternatives to oil in all transport modes and defines targets for a minimum infrastructure coverage to be achieved by 2020.
The conference will discuss the prospects for the envisaged broad market development of alternative fuels, in view of recent political and technical developments.
