Nedstack fuel cell technology B.V. (Nedstack) signed the final contract for delivering the world’s first 2MW PEM fuel cell power plant. This 2MW PEMFC unit will be installed at the site of Ynnovate Sanzheng (Yingkou) Fine Chemicals Co. Ltd in Yingkou, Liaoning province, China. Waste hydrogen is produced in a chlor-alkali process and will be utilized on site for the generation of 2MW of electricity. With Nedstack’s PEM power plant technology 20% of the customer’s energy consumption can be regained.
After being the first to install a 1MW PEMFC unit (at Solvay Belgium in 2011) Nedstack is working together with Akzo Nobel Industrial Chemicals and MTSA Technopower in the DEMCOPEM project that is supported by the European Union FCH-JU program. A delegation of all parties involved attended the signing ceremony on January 9th 2015 in Shanghai.
