The international bus and coach fair Busworld Kortrijk will take place in Kortrijk between 18 and 23 October.
Busworld Academy is a new initiative of Busworld Foundation, which will take place during the first exhibition day. Throughout its existence, Busworld has been a focal point for people who want to find information on the many aspects of the bus and coach industry. Using its worldwide network of exhibitors, operators, academics, journalists, engineers and other contacts, the Busworld network has been able to point people in the right direction, and the time has come to step up a gear and formalise the informal network by establishing the Busworld Academy.
Busworld Academy has three main objectives, to acquire, bundle and share bus and coach related knowledge about all aspects of the industry, including its participating companies, technological developments to enhance sustainable mobility, legislation, markets and other specific topics, such as coach tourism.
The morning session will feature a stakeholders meeting and 2 seminars open to the public: a seminar on sustainable mobility organised by HyER and a safety & fire safety seminar while the afternoon sessions will address the issues of the implementation of hybrid, electric and hydrogen technologies in the European bus fleet (update on the European Electromobility Observatory) and sustainable mobility aspects. The participants will then be invited to a sustainable tour of the Busworld exhibition. The day will close with the official launch of the Busworld academy.
