On June 20, 2023 the Commission published the two delegated acts on the EU definition of renewable hydrogenl. The first act defines under which conditions hydrogen, hydrogen-based fuels or other energy carriers can be considered as renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBOs). The second act provides a methodology for calculating life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions for RFNBOs. The final texts are unchanged from the draft acts adopted by the Commission on 13 February 2023. The rules will formally enter into force on July 11, 2023, 20 days following their publication in the Official Journal.
