‘’ALL YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT HYDROGEN’’  an event for students organized by the European Hydrogen Association, Italian Hydrogen Association and FAST – Federation of the Scientific and Technical Associations, took place during the 26th of  Italian Edition of the European  competition Youth and Science on May 2-5, 2014 hosted by FAST in Milan and saw the participation  of more than 100 ambitious students competing to be the Europe’s best young scientific talent.

Marco Migliavacca – member of the board at H2IT, EHA’s national association member in Italy,  started the workshop by explaining the different properties of the hydrogen and how does the fuel cell work followed by an interactive session by Ahmed Essam Aly – Communication manager and researcher in FAST and EHA – where the sustainable development, EU funds and European research projects were explained. Furthermore the presentation focused on three EU projects in which FAST is  cooperating with EHA in the disseminaion of their results ALKAMMONIAPOWER-UP and DON QUICHOTE. At the end,  students watched a model of a fuel cell. ‘What is the price of the energy using the hydrogen technology comparing to the other types of fuels?” asked Goran Giudetti, high  school student . ”What is the efficiency of the hydrogen fuel cell and what could be the different alternative to store the renewable energy” asked Stefano Sesia, Scientific School in Casale (AL)

The presentations triggered a lot of questions that continued long after the workshop ended.
