100% renewable targets will require power storage to manage flows on the net
Electrolysers utilise these intermittent power flows to produce H2 gas from water
H2 gas can be stored in large quantities underground and transported via existing gas pipelines
H2 vehicles recharge faster and are more durable than battery powered transport
Growing H2 demand in industrial processes will reduce costs and increase supply

The Linde Group, signed  a long term contract with the Shell Oil Company to supply Hydrogen via pipeline in Houston, Texas. The project of using Hydrogen mainly for clean-burning transporting fuel at the Deer Park Refining Company worth more then $ 50 million, will commence in mid 2010.  In his speech,  Linde Group’s executive board member Mr. Kent Master said, “Linde has been associated with Shell on multiple international initiatives in the areas of industrial gases and plant supply and the provision of engineering services during the last five years. We are very excited to expand this relationship by the establishment of this additional long-term hydrogen tonnage supply arrangement in the strategic Houston Ship Channel area.”
