100% renewable targets will require power storage to manage flows on the net
Electrolysers utilise these intermittent power flows to produce H2 gas from water
H2 gas can be stored in large quantities underground and transported via existing gas pipelines
H2 vehicles recharge faster and are more durable than battery powered transport
Growing H2 demand in industrial processes will reduce costs and increase supply

Boeing is planning to run test flights of its company-funded Phantom Eye hydrogen-fuelled long-distance UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) in California in late October or early November.

The vehicle, announced and first tested in July 2010, is twin-engine with a 150-ft. wingspan and cruises at approximately 150 knots. The upcoming flights aim to demonstrate up to four days flight endurance at 65,000 ft.
