This autumn Akershus County Council and HyER will host the conference “Regional Power for Clean Transport” in Oslo, Norway.

Sign up to find out about the latest developments and first movers in clean transport, and discover how regions can take action towards a greener, more sustainable Europe! Europe is currently 94 % dependent on oil based fuels, and the need for a joint initiative to implement alternative fuel solutions is urgent. The Directive for the Deployment of an Alternative Fuels Infrastructure (COM2013/18) is currently under consideration in the European Parliament. The European Parliament has just published the report of MEP Carlo Fidanza, which emphasize the prominent role that cities and regions can play.

Together with HyER, Akershus County Council will focus on the interaction between politics, research and industry to accelerate this vision. The conference will particularly emphasize on biofuels, electromobility/batteries and hydrogen as an energy carrier. Internationally renowned speakers from politics, research and industry will attend. Among them there will be representatives from the European Commission, European Parliament, Mercedes-Benz Daimler, Toyota, Huyndai, AGA-Linde, Air Liquid and Nordic Energy Research, as well as the European regions Rotterdam, Amsterdam, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and Akershus, Norway.

This conference is a unique opportunity for representatives from public policy, regions, research and industry to meet and discuss how to implement Clean Transport in European regions.
