100% renewable targets will require power storage to manage flows on the net
Electrolysers utilise these intermittent power flows to produce H2 gas from water
H2 gas can be stored in large quantities underground and transported via existing gas pipelines
H2 vehicles recharge faster and are more durable than battery powered transport
Growing H2 demand in industrial processes will reduce costs and increase supply
When: 22 November, 2011   Where: Renaissance Hotel, (Rue du Parnasse 19, Brussels)

The European Commission is expected to put forward an Energy Roadmap 2050 in December this year. The Roadmap will outline various pathways to reach the objectives of the energy sector, especially the established EU priorities – sustainability, energy security and competitiveness.

In this effort, a Coalition of European utilities (SSE, Eneco and Dong Energy) is coordinating a conference to be held in Brussels on the 22nd of November from 17h00 – 19h30.  The theme of this conference ‘Energy Roadmap 2050: Choosing the sustainable pathway for decarbonising the power sector’ is about what’s needed to create the right policy, regulatory and financial environment to get this done.
