100% renewable targets will require power storage to manage flows on the net
Electrolysers utilise these intermittent power flows to produce H2 gas from water
H2 gas can be stored in large quantities underground and transported via existing gas pipelines
H2 vehicles recharge faster and are more durable than battery powered transport
Growing H2 demand in industrial processes will reduce costs and increase supply

The Official Journal of the EU , announced  in its June 18 , 2010 issue the publication of the third Call for proposals of the Joint Undertaking for Fuel Cell  and Hydrogen. Call information has been published on the Cordis website. A little over € 89 mln is available for Transport, hydrogen production and stationary applications as well as early markets.  The Deadline for proposals is October 13, 2010.
