100% renewable targets will require power storage to manage flows on the net
Electrolysers utilise these intermittent power flows to produce H2 gas from water
H2 gas can be stored in large quantities underground and transported via existing gas pipelines
H2 vehicles recharge faster and are more durable than battery powered transport
Growing H2 demand in industrial processes will reduce costs and increase supply

The EU Parliament approved a compromise report on the promotion of clean and energy efficient road vehicles. The Directive will include mandatory criteria for public procurement of vehicles including CO2 and other emissions. The Directive will be discussed in the Council of the EU this December. The EHA is hosting a seminar “Towards large scale procurement of Alternative fuel vehicles” on December 17, 2008 in Brussels, organised by the EU Project Procura (www.procura-fleets.eu)
