100% renewable targets will require power storage to manage flows on the net
Electrolysers utilise these intermittent power flows to produce H2 gas from water
H2 gas can be stored in large quantities underground and transported via existing gas pipelines
H2 vehicles recharge faster and are more durable than battery powered transport
Growing H2 demand in industrial processes will reduce costs and increase supply

The Dutch gasnetwork could potentially be adjusted to hydrogen according to the Dutch Certifcation Agency KIWA, in a report (in Dutch) published on July 12, 2018 and comissioned by Netbeheer Nederland, one of the Dutch network operators.  Netbeheer together with other network operators  Alliander, Enexis Groep en Stedin, is calling for more industrial pilots as well is pilots in the built environment; network operator  Rendo for example is currently building a H2 pipeline system to serve 80 residences in the East of the Netherlands.

Wanna bet how long it would take Belgian Fluxys to supply the new office of Hydrogen Europe, that was inaugurated by the EU Commissioner for Climate Miguel Arias Cañete on July 10, 2018 in Brussels, with hydrogen (if need be?)
