6th Annual Zero Emission Conference

The sixth annual Zero Emission Conference is to be held November 21-22, 2011 in Clarion Hotel Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. The ZeroEmission Conference is the largest of its kind in Scandinavia. The two day programme spans across a wide range of topics and perspectives, from the visions to the specific solutions.
Is Green Growth Possible? What does a green economy look like? The strain on the climate and our limited resources grows with the global population and economic development. Is our economic system capable of meeting the challenge? Is economic growth an obstacle or a prerequisite for finding the solutions? And will stronger climate policies destroy businesses or be a source of new business opportunities?

Nordic hydrogen and fuel cell conference 2011

Organised by the Danish Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells, VTT, Hydrogen Sweden, Norwegian Hydrogen Forum and Icelandic New Energy, the conference will focus on the market roll out of fuel cell and hydrogen technologies, an early market perspective – ongoing research and demonstration, including industrial products and product development, hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, fuel cells and hydrogen end-use as well as hydrogen system aspects.

We will also give you the latest news and highlights from Brussels and the FCH JTI General Assembly (the European Commission’s Fuels Cell & Hydrogen Joint Technology Initiative), which takes place shortly before this event.
Representatives from the fuel cell and hydrogen industry will be represented on the speaker list along with other hydrogen stakeholders and researchers from all of the Nordic countries. Presentations will be held in parallel sessions.

Association Française pour l’Hydrogène et les Piles à Combustible – AFHYPAC

The French Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Platform HyPaC held its General Assembly on June 21^st and gathered its members to propose an evolution of the Platform.

HyPaC and the “Association Française de l’Hydrogène” (AFH2) will mutualise their efforts to accelerate the hydrogen and fuel cell technologies’ deployment in France in a new strong national structure which will federate the hydrogen and fuel cell community in France.

In this aim, the “Association Française de l’Hydrogène” becomes the “Association Française pour l’Hydrogène et les Piles à Combustible – AFHYPAC” and follows the same goals as HyPaC.

AFHYPAC will send in September a “call for membership” to all French companies involved in the field of hydrogen energy. It will be supported by the French governmental institutions. AFHYPAC will hold its first General Assembly at the autumn 2011.

Hydrogen Sweden at Meeting Point Almedalen, 2011

Hydrogen Sweden are present for one week in Almedalen, Sweden during which hydrogen and fuel cell technologies will be presented on several occasions. In the event where Honda will show its FCX Clarity model, one of the first hydrogen-powered cars, Hydrogen Sweden will participate in the following sessions:

UK HFCA Summer Networking Reception

The UK FCHA will be holding its Summer Networking Reception on the evening of the 7th July 2011 in central London. The occasion is aimed at providing the opportunity for informal networking and knowledge-sharing among the members of the Association. Dr Martin Linder, Associate Principal at McKinsey and Company, will be among the ones to join the evening and provide an update on the results of the ‘Hydrogen Coalition’ study and its impact and implications since publication last year. This is expected to provide a stimulus for subsequent discussions. The evening will also provide an opportunity to informally interact with the key stakeholders, including invited policy makers and public funders.

H2IT conference: “The Italian Hydrogen Way”

On June 14, 2011 will be held in Milan at the FAST (Piazzale R. Morandi 2) the conference ”The Italian hydrogen way” organized by Italian Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Association (H2IT).

Since Hydrogen as an energy carrier and hydrogen applications, as fuel cells, are considered to play an important role in Europe’s energy and transport future, the conference presenting what is already happening in the EU and in Germany, as the most advanced country in Europe, would like to call for more attention to Italy’s contribution to this sector.

The Italian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association H2IT is convinced that, even in the absence of national programs and regional strategies,

Italian industrial and scientific competence throughout the hydrogen and fuel cell value chain is significant. Italian State of the Art and future perspectives by experts in the field of hydrogen production, distribution, storage and applications as well as the results of the H2IT R&D survey will be presented.

The conference is free of charge for H2IT members and €100 for non members.

The Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) at GENERA2011, the Energy and Environment International Trade Fair

GENERA 2011, the Energy and Environment International Trade Fair will be held between 11 and 13 May in Feria de Madrid and will be the main meeting and business point with regard to renewable energy and energy efficiency in Spain. The Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) will be present at this event and is currently planning a hydrogen related seminar for participants interest in the topic.

GENERA 2011 will have a TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS that will complete the commercial activity of the Fair, as well as FORO GENERA, a space in which products and services can be presented.

Also, in the INNOVATION GALLERY – an area of the Fair dedicated to highlighting the efforts of sectors such as research and development -, projects will be shown in order to illustrate the avant-garde advances in energy efficiency and environment protection, in an easily applicable and functional scheme.

The International Hydrogen Research Showcase 2011

The International Hydrogen Research Showcase 2011 will take place at the University of Birmingham on 13-15th April 2011. The high profile three-day event aims to disseminate research via poster and oral presentations from members of UK consortia and invited industry and international speakers, identify key areas of national and international research priorities on hydrogen and sustainable energy especially from invited international speakers, and promote the social and economic implications of transitions to sustainable energy systems.

The International Hydrogen Research Showcase 2011 will bring together approximately 150 people with 5 plenary speakers and 18 keynote speakers who will draw from their experience and showcase the current position of hydrogen development in the UK and internationally. Confirmed invited speakers include:
