Association Française pour l’Hydrogène et les Piles à Combustible – AFHYPAC

The French Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Platform General Assembly on June 21st announced evolution of the Platform. HyPaC and the “Association Française de l’Hydrogène” will join their efforts to accelerate hydrogen and fuel cell technologies’ deployment in France.

HyLIFT-DEMO Project meeting in Denmark

On July 4th 2011 the HyLIFT-DEMO project held its second project meeting in Herning, Denmark. During the meeting project partners were able to exchange actions and future developments. The hosts, H2 Logic, gave a tour of their premises and presented the hydrogen fuel cell forklift truck prototype to be deployed with the project demonstration sites.

The HyLIFT-DEMO project will conduct a large scale demonstration of Fuel Cell Hydrogen (FCH) powered FLTs (Fork Lift Trucks), while building the business case to enable following deployment and introduction by 2013. This first small scale series production of FLT will seek to validate the value proposition and commercial and environmental targets by retrieving the data provided by the demonstration operation.

Survey: Identification, Preparation and Dissemination of Hydrogen Safety Facts to Regulators and Public Safety Officials

HyFACTS aims to develop and initiate dissemination of training material for Regulators and Public Safety Officials. An online survey has been created which participants may review and submit the appropriate data on the authorization procedures and training of officials in your designated country or region.

Successful EHA Annual General Assembly in Oslo!

The 11th EHA Annual General Assembly that took place on June 21, 2011 at Akershus Fylkeskommune, left of the main entrance to Akershus Fylkeskommune. This edition featured at 11:30 Scandinavian national associations presenting the latest developments in their countries and Scandinavain industries were invited to showcase their latest hydrogen and fuel cell system solutions. The meeting concluded with a luncheon and a tour program in the afternoon visiting the Oslo electro-mobility projects including the hydrogen transport demo sites.

European Parliament Seminar: Joint seminar on youth employment

On June 30th the the employment committee of the European parliament, hosted a seminar “What is Europe doing for youth employment?”.
EHA took the opportunity to ask the panel of speakers in light of the activities of the HyPROFESSIONALS project, of the EU’s plans to address the changing demands in the new innovative job markets, such as hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.

International Conference on Hydrogen Production (ICH2P-11)- Thessaloniki

This June 19-22 the ICH2P-11 took place in Thessaloniki, Greece. EHA took part in the event presenting our activities and the various EU funded projects that are currently taking place in Europe.
The event provided for a great opportunity to stimulate the Greek Hydrogen Community and thus communication has begun to extend the EHA network to include Greece.

Future Transport Fuels Group includes EHA

EHA is representing the European hydrogen industry in recent meetings of the Future Transport Fuels Expert Group. The Group has taken an advising role to the European Commission on the development of political strategies and concrete measure aiming at substituting fossil oil as transport fuel.

Strategic Transport Technology Plan Stakeholders meeting and consultation

The EHA participated in the Stakeholders Meeting that was organized by DG MOVE to present the EU efforts in establishing a Strategic Transport Technology Plan (STTP)  on May 24, 2010.  The STTP is scheduled to be published by mid 2011.

EHA presents views on H2 infrastructure at Cars 21 Working Group 1 meeting

The CARS 21 High Level Group was set up by the European Commission last November to develop a common action plan and a vision for “a competitive EU automotive industry and sustainable mobility and growth in 2020 and beyond.”
The focus of the group will be to advise the Commission in the development of an effective European industrial policy for the automotive sector and in the implementation of the EU’s strategy for clean and energy efficient vehicles.

The EHA has been invited to participate in the working groups that are preparing recommendations for the final report schedueld for this Spring.

The EHA explained in its presentation to the Working group on Innovation, infrastructure, energy supply and use,  the need to start integrating hydrogen requirements in current transport and energy infrastructure planning. Incentives will be needed [...]

EU Transport White Paper: EHA position represented in joint paper

The European Commission on March 28, 2011 presented its new White Paper “Roadmap to a Single European Transport Area – Towards a competitive and resource efficient transport system” which adopted a roadmap of 40 concrete initiatives for the next decade.
