European Hydrogen Energy Conference 2014

The European Hydrogen Energy Conference  will be held in Seville next year in association with the Spanish Hydrogen Association and the European Hydrogen Association.  The conference will take place over two days to discuss the following topics: Technology: fuel cell stacks and systems, electrolysers, reformers, hydrogen storage, control and power conditioning systems. Markets: production, companies, strategies, commercilisation, filling stations, codes and standards Countries and associations: national associations, countries’ strategies, technological platforms, European programmes Follow the EHEC website for more information

Hydrogen Dream Map attracts international interest!

This year EHA along with the Spanish, Latvian and Italian Hydrogen Associations  is featuring the current and future status of hydrogen station development in Europe in view of the EU Clean Power for Transport ambitions. The EHA stand is featuring a map of Europe with the current and planned stations and visitors are asked to put a sticker where they wish a hydrogen station to be built in the near future.  Visitors from Lithunia, Latvia, Estonia, UK, Ireland France, Germany, Netherlands, as well as a a few countries further south – Egypt, Morocco and Cyprus  placed their imaginary hydrogen stations on their home town. EHA Executive Director Marieke Reijalt, as coordinator of the HyER office in Brussels will be presented local hydrogen developments at the Better Transport Forum at the Metropolitan Solutions stand as well as giving EHA presentations both on National Hydrogen Infrastructure and EHA Project Results (see earlier post)

EHA Projects presented at Hannover Messe 2013

27 Hydrogen Refuelling stations open world wide in 2012

Twenty-seven new hydrogen refuelling stations opened worldwide in 2012, bringing the total number of hydrogen refuelling stations in operation to 208 as of March 2013.

Geneva Motor Show 2013

The 2013 Geneva International Motor Show 2013 has highlighted the technological development of car manufacturers and suppliers.  It is the first international motor show to dedicate an entire section specifically devoted to the theme of vehicles powered by alternative energy systems and renewable fuel sources. With that in mind they created the Pavillion Vert to present to visitors the future of more economical and environmentally friendly vehicles.

Has anyone seen the fuel cell car?

Dr Ulrich Schmidtchen  from the German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (DWV) gives an overview of the current situation. The new year has just begun, but we have already seen quite a number of changes concerning the car makers developing fuel cell cars.

Transport , Telecommunications and Energy Council Prepare for June Energy Council

The Transport Council headed by Irish Minster for Communications, Energy and National Resources, Pat Rabitte held a public policy debate in Brussels last week, 22 February  2012. The meeting featured a policy debate on communication on the internal energy market that the commission published in December 2012.  The debate focused on Member State priorities for the successful completion of the internal market and on identifying ways to increase the role of consumers in the EU energy market. The debate will contribute to the preparation of the European Energy Council which will take place on 22 May which will focus on energy issues and later at the June Energy Council which will be held in Luxembourg.

H2 Moves Road Tour stop at Klimamobility in Bolzano

On 17 September 2012, the European Hydrogen Road Tour made a stop at the Klimamobility Fair in Bolzano, Italy. The event offered a VIP test drive with all four vehicle types (Mercedes Benz F-CELL, Hyundai ix35 FCEV, Honda FCX Clarity and Toyota FCV-adv), which were heavily utilised by VIPs and students alike. The major activity however were the presentations disseminating messages of South Tyrol’s political and industrial commitment together with H2moves Scandinavia’s vehicle and infrastructure demonstration achievements in Scandinavia.
