Since 25. January 2000 there is a European representation of hydrogen technology.
At this day a number of experts from seven countries met in Brussels and founded the European Hydrogen Association (EHA).
Press Release:
A new High Tech association is active in Europe since 25. January:
The European Hydrogen Association (EHA) as top organization of European hydrogen associations will act for the promotion of hydrogen technology.
This includes the proliferation and further development of fuel cells. EHA will achieve its objectives by means of public relations, information for experts, and political initiatives.
It will be an association with its legal seat in Brussels; the official registration according to Belgian law is expected to happen soon.
Among the founder members are the five national hydrogen associations existing in Europe at this time. They are from:
- France (Association Française de l'Hydrogène)
- Italy (Forum Italiano dell'Idrogeno)
- Norway (Norsk Hydrogenforum)
- Sweden (H2Forum)
- Germany (DWV).
Associated members of EHA are other experts and companies from Switzerland and The Netherlands, among them Shell Hydrogen B.V.
Rolf Ewald (DWV) was elected chairman. Joachim Gretz (also DWV) was appointed as honorary member in recognition of his many years of work in European projects for the promotion of hydrogen technology.
EHA will do tasks on the European level which the national associations can not do at all or not so good. This applies in particular to the intensification of contacts to agencies of the European Union and to European countries not yet having an association of their own. At the same time EHA will promote the formation of national hydrogen associations in such countries.
The foundation of such organizations in Iceland and The Netherlands is expected to happen within a few months.
