Commission adopts proposal Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020

The Commission on June 29, 2011 presented its proposal Council Regulation  laying down the multiannual financial framework for the years 2014-2020 that should facilitate business-driven research and innovation through the use of public funding to leverage private investments.

Successful EHA Annual General Assembly in Oslo!

The 11th EHA Annual General Assembly that took place on June 21, 2011 at Akershus Fylkeskommune, left of the main entrance to Akershus Fylkeskommune. This edition featured at 11:30 Scandinavian national associations presenting the latest developments in their countries and Scandinavain industries were invited to showcase their latest hydrogen and fuel cell system solutions. The meeting concluded with a luncheon and a tour program in the afternoon visiting the Oslo electro-mobility projects including the hydrogen transport demo sites.

European Parliament Seminar: Joint seminar on youth employment

On June 30th the the employment committee of the European parliament, hosted a seminar “What is Europe doing for youth employment?”.
EHA took the opportunity to ask the panel of speakers in light of the activities of the HyPROFESSIONALS project, of the EU’s plans to address the changing demands in the new innovative job markets, such as hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.

Grid for Vehicles (G4V) Workshop

G4V is a consortium assembled under the FP7 Program bringing together six energy utilities and six academic institutions across Europe. The consortium has been given the task to analyse the impact and possibilities of a mass introduction of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the electricity network in Europe and is now organizing a closing workshop where the main results and conclusions of the G4V project will be presented. The participants to this workshop will receive a detailed overview of the main results, conclusions and recommendations. Within the last 18 months, the G4V has developed an analytical framework to plan the required technological developments in the grid infrastructure and the defined the related ICT and policy requirements in order to cope with a mass introduction of EVs. On the one hand, the aim is to clearly understand the effects of a mass introduction under physically given parameters, taking into account local characteristics in different EU Member States as well as the regulatory framework in place. On the other hand, possible of active demand and storage possibilities are extensively explored as these also imply options for managing the possible negative impacts on the grid. Air Liquide and Honda join the Clean Energy Partnership

At a press conference on 19 May 2011, the Clean Energy Partnership (CEP) announced that Air Liquide and Honda have joined the alliance. CEP, sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Transportation as part of its National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP), is a partnership comprising of now 14 companies with the target of establishing hydrogen as the ‘fuel of the future’. With the contribution of its members, CEP carries out activities and develops a basis for testing hydrogen and fuel cell technologies for everyday use in transport and traffic. Air Liquide and Honda are declared to contribute for the construction of new filling stations and expansion of the fleet of vehicles. Air Liquide, a sustaining member to the EHA, will undertake its first major project as a CEP partner this year by constructing a 700-bar public hydrogen filling station near Dusseldorf, first of its kind in the North Rhine-Westphalia region.The filling station will demonstrate similar conditions to a conventional filling station by enabling the vehicles to refuel in three minutes. Hydrogenics Awarded Hydrogen Fuelling Station in Germany

Hydrogenics announced on an award to supply a HySTAT™-60 electrolyzer for a hydrogen fueling station to be based in southern Germany.The electrolyzer will be capable of producing up to 130 kilograms per day of green hydrogen fuel from wind power to be used in electric fuel cell vehicles.

JS Power announces the launch of its new H2 generators

JS Power, a China-based company in hydrogen technologies, has announced the launch of its new JS-2N range of hydrogen generators. The underlying feature of these generators is that they function, by using JS Power’s powder pouches, anywhere a source of water is available.

Public Consultation for EU Air Quality Legislation

The European Commission has launched a public consultation for Air Quality legislation. 
The objective of the consultation is to gather views and additional information on the effectiveness, strength and weaknesses of EU air quality legislation. Deadline for submission to the consultation is 30th of September 2011.

The French National Research Agency in 2005 launched a research program on new energy technologies.

International Conference on Hydrogen Production (ICH2P-11)- Thessaloniki

This June 19-22 the ICH2P-11 took place in Thessaloniki, Greece. EHA took part in the event presenting our activities and the various EU funded projects that are currently taking place in Europe.
The event provided for a great opportunity to stimulate the Greek Hydrogen Community and thus communication has begun to extend the EHA network to include Greece.
