Workshop on the Gaps, Perspectives and Barriers in Regulations, Codes and Standards for the Market Deployment of Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Technologies

Fuel Cell Europe will organise a workshop that will  debate about the role of Regulation, Codes and Standards (RCS) for the deployment of fuel cell technologies, with a particular focus on the RCS development process and the impacts they have on the industry. The needs of the industry in terms of RCS for different applications and market areas will be debated. Experts’ insights will be shared on the topics triggering debates on the gaps, perspectives and barriers of RCS for the fuel cells and hydrogen commercialisation. Workshop on Fuel Cells and Hydrogen for the Marine and Harbor Industry

Fuel Cell Europe will organise a workshop on May 9, 2011, that will debate on the potentials of fuel cells and hydrogen technologies for the marine and harbor industry, a sector which faces strong challenges in terms of energy savings and GHG emissions reduction. During this workshop, emphasis will be placed on sharing visions and best practices, exchanging lessons learnt, as well as discussing the state of the art of technologies in this field. Speakers and participants will also debate about the opportunities and barriers for the deployment of fuel cell and hydrogen technologies in marine and harbor applications. Progress in Hydrogen Safety Workshop

The International Short Course and Advanced Research Workshop is ideally suited to those who wish to meet the growing demand for specialists in Hydrogen Safety Engineering i.e. industries and services such as aerospace, process industry, energy industry, civil works, transport and distribution, fire and rescue services, regulatory authorities, teaching and research institutes, various industrialist co operations, consultancies etc. The course will be focused on Hydrogen Regulation, Codes and Standard and is aimed at researchers, professionals, industrialists and those who have an interest in working with hydrogen in this new and rapid advancing field. Linde builds large hydrogen and synthesis gas plant in China

The Linde Group, an EHA sustaining member, announced with a press release on 3 May 2011 that the company will build and operate a large hydrogen and synthesis gas plant in the Chongqing Chemical Park in Western China in a joint enterprise with Chongqing Chemical & Pharmaceutical Holding Company (CCPHC).The project has an estimated investment value of EUR 200 million and Linde holds 60 percent of the shares in the joint investment. With the new plant, which is expected to become functional in the third quarter of 2014, Linde aims at further strengthening its market position in China. The public hearing is key step in the CARS 21 process, ensuring that a broad range of stakeholders can contribute to recommendations in the Interim and Final Report. By means of this public hearing, the Commission seeks to engage a broader group of stakeholders into reflection on the topics selected for the Interim and Final Reports and contribute to policy recommendations, which will be presented in the report. While as a general rule, the CARS 21 meetings are limited to the group members and, occasionally, invited experts, the Commission is looking for the input from a wider range of stakeholders –in view of the societal importance of the topics discussed.
